1940's
Otis Massey, having served as Mayor of Houston from
1943 to 1947, leaves office to pursue business.
1950's
Otis and his son-in-law, Frank Tucker, partner to create the
Caterpillar dealership in Southeast Texas, Mustang Cat
1960's
Major Houston headquarters expansion begins

Houston’s population grew by over 294,000 people-a
31% increase-making it the 6th largest city in the U.S.
by decade’s end. This explosive growth fueled massive
infrastructure,industrial, and commercial development across
Southeast Texas.

During that same period, Mustang Cat expanded in
step with the city
, supporting the heavy equipment
needs of Houston’s booming construction, energy, and
transportation sectors.
1970's
Today Mustang has 15 Rental locations, 13 Sales locations
and 4 Power Rebuild locations

L.M. Coates Company, Houston Towmotor Lift Truck Dealer purchased, becoming Mustang Industrial Equipment Company

1980's
Eureka Energy Systems is created to sell, lease, and
rent gas compressors

Mustang Rental Services opens its first location

Brad Tucker joins the family business as
Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
Working alongside his brother, Louis Tucker.

1990's
Mustang Power Systems is recognized as the
first Cat Power Systems dealer in the US to be
awarded the ISO-9001 accreditation
2000-2010's
Pipeline Machinery International a partnership
among Mustang, Fabick Cat, Ringpower Cat and
Finning Cat, is formed with a global territory to
provide sales and rentals to mainline pipeline
contractors
2011-2020's
Brad Tucker purchases the interest in Mustang Cat
owned by his brother, Louis Tucker
Mustang Cat Charitable Foundation was
formed with a mission to support basic human
needs of food, clothing, shelter, health and
security across Southeast Texas in the
communities where its employees and customers
live and work.
Mustang Cat debuts in the Top 10 private companies
by revenue in Houston, TX for the first time.
Energy Rental Solutions, a partnership between
Mustang and Louisiana Cat is formed to provide
power generation, air compression and
temperature control solutions to the downstream
energy market along the Louisiana and upper
Texas Gulf Coast.
Mustang and Louisiana Cat form Distributed Power
Solutions
which provides large megawatt mobile power
and turnkey solutions to meet the growing global
demand for energy related products and services
Bluestem Equity is established in 2020
2021
Sam Tucker becomes President and CEO
of Mustang Cat, representing the 4th
generation of ownership.
2025
Bluestem launches its first SBIC Fund,
Verde Capital Partners.
